Congrats to Joe Maddon and the Rays

Former Angels coach Joe Maddon led the Tampa Bay Rays to their first playoff appearance Saturday. The team still is fighting to hold off the Boston Red Sox in the A.L. East, but their first playoff appearance is quite an achievement.
The Rays remind me a bit of the 1969 Miracle Mets, who had never finished in the top half of the standings before winning a World Series.
How bad have the Rays been? Here's their year-by-year records since they started in 1998:
63-99, 69-93, 69-92, 62-100, 55-106, 63-99, 70-91, 67-95, 61-101, 66-96 and so far this year: 91-61.
As you can see, Maddon has done quite a good job turning this franchise around!
